How Surrogate Mother Selection is Carried Out?

First and foremost, psychological tests and interviews in addition to routine blood tests and gynecological examinations are carried out in order to evaluate whether the surrogate mother is ready for pregnancy or not. We send your esteemed side files containing pictures and all the social and family information of the Surrogate Mother candidates as a result of the evaluation. We conclude the final selection of the Surrogate Mother with the advice and recommendations of our doctor who conduct the medical controls. Our aim here is to determine for your valued side the most suitable Surrogate Mother candidate in terms of medical and social aspects.

How does the process begin?

The first step in the surrogacy method; starts with pre-testing of the couple in need of this process at our center. Then it is proceeded to the egg preparation stage of the biological mother which takes an average of 10-12 days. Subsequent to egg collection stage which is carried out in our center in Georgia eggs are fertilized with the sperm obtained from the father candidate in the laboratory and the embryos obtained are transferred to the Surrogate Mother.

Why Surrogate Motherhood Should Be Done in Georgia?

Georgia is one of the few countries which permit international Surrogate Motherhood thanks to its legislation. Surrogate Mothers can never claim about having the baby after birth according to Georgian legislation. The name of the Surrogate Mother is never written on the birth certificate. Only the name of the mother and father is written on the birth certificate. This allows parent candidates to start the process in a peaceful way. Surrogate Mothers also have to comply with all medical laws, maintain their health in a perfect way, and have at least one child before participating in a surrogacy program.

  • The number of young and healthy donors and surrogate mothers is much higher in Georgia compared to other countries
  • There is no waiting time for the applicant couples
  • Medical follow-up and genetic screening of surrogate mothers are conducted in a professional way.
  • Presence of a trained and experienced specialist doctor team
  • Presence of Turkish-speaking staff in the clinic
  • Financial advantages of surrogacy compared to other legal countries
  • Transparent payment plan
  • Possibility to meet with surrogate mother candidates before making a decision
  • The official birth certificate is issued within 1 day, immediately after delivery
  • Possibility of speaking with successful families

EGG DONATION

Egg donation (egg transplantation) is a highly successful treatment method for mothers who do not have the chance to get pregnant with their own eggs. In the egg donation method, the eggs collected from donors with healthy and rich ovarian reserve are fertilized by sperm obtained from the father or sperm donor and embryonated. These embryos are transferred to the womb of the mother by means of in vitro fertilization.

To Whom Is It Applied?

  • Women who do not get pregnant with their own eggs for any reason (To those who have genetic problems such as Turner Syndrome and Gonadal dysgenesis )
  • Women who have genetic diseases
  • Women who have a healthy womb but have early menopause
  • Women with surgically removed eggs (due to reasons such as cancer, endometriosis, infection)
  • Women whose have eggs are damaged or women who eggs lost their egg cells due to reasons such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy
  • Elderly women whose egg reserves and egg quality is not sufficient
  • Women whose egg reserves have decreased at an early age
  • Women with recurrent in vitro fertilization failures

SPERM DONATION

Sperm donation is the process of taking sperm from another person (sperm bank) in men which do not have sperm production due to any congenital or subsequently occurring reasons and therefore cannot cause pregnancy. Although sperm donation is preferred by men who are not able to obtain sperm in azoospermic biopsies (semen without sperm) but can be preferred by single women and lesbian couples.

To Whom Is It Applied?

  • Patients with undescended testes whose sperm production is completely damaged inasmuch as they were not operated on time
  • Patients with damaged sperm production due to chemotherapy or radiotherapy
  • Patients whose testicles have been damaged due to previous febrile disease / mumps
  • Patients without testes due to trauma or other reasons or patients who cannot produce sperm due to genetic diseases
  • Patients with recurrent in vitro fertilization failure due to detected poor sperm quality
  • Patients at risk of having dead babies due to consanguineous marriage
  • Single women or lesbian couples

PGD / GENDER SELECTION

Gender selection (also known as gender determination or gender assignment) is the process of determining the gender of the child prior to pregnancy. Gender determination can only be conducted through in vitro fertilization and genetic diagnosis method. This process allows couples to have children in the genders they desire and making family planning.

PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) is a genetic examination method which determines the sexes of the genders obtained through the in vitro fertilization with 100% certainty. The success of the gender determination process with PGD, which is the most effective method used worldwide, is scientifically expressed as 99.9 % or 100%.

The gender determination process has basically the same steps as the in vitro fertilization process. In addition to the in vitro fertilization stages, only your embryos are identified by genetic screening as male and female. Although this determination process has exact precision, half of the embryos to be processed will not have the desired sex statistically. Sometimes all of your healthy embryos may be in the sex you don't prefer, or your preferred sex embryos may not be healthy enough.

Advantages of PGD Method

  • Increases the success of the in vitro fertilization application.
  • Increases the rate of clinical pregnancy.
  • Reduces the miscarriage risk of pregnancy with.
  • Reduces the need for medical termination of pregnancy.
  • Reduces the rate of multiple pregnancy.
  • Decreases the financial burden and psychological pressure of repeatedly unsuccessful in vitro fertilization trials.
  • Gives the right to choose the desired gender to families desiring boys or girls.

IN VITRO FERTILIZATION

The egg of the woman and the man's sperm are taken out of the body and brought together under laboratory conditions to ensure fertilization. This process is called IVF (in vitro fertilization ) or test tube baby.

The purpose of in vitro fertilization treatments is to develop more than one follicle and maximize the chance of collecting several eggs in the same menstrual cycle.

Ovulation induction is made in the patient's pre-treatment (by virtue of short or long protocol needles) to create a large number of egg cells. The created follicles are monitored by ultrasound every 3-4 days and kept until they reach the proper size. In the meantime, the response of the ovaries to the treatment with E2 and LH levels is evaluated. When the follicles reach the desired maturity, the day of egg collection (OPU) is determined. Egg collection is made under vaginal anesthesia by ultrasound guiding. Egg collection is required to be done in the morning because it requires at least 6 hours of fasting. After egg collection, the patient leaves our center after resting for 2 hours.

EMBRYO DONATION

To Whom Is It Applied?

  • To couples from whom eggs and sperm cannot be obtained in no way.
  • To couples with genetic disease and have no possibility of having a healthy child (If healthy pregnancy cannot be achieved even by genetic analysis)
  • To couples who cannot develop a good quality embryo with its own eggs and sperm although it has been repeatedly tried and who do not have possibility of pregnancy
